Tomorrow’s plan, next weekend’s trip, or a prediction about the weather can be expressed with -(으)ㄹ 거예요.
What Does A/V-(으)ㄹ 거예요 Mean?
Use -(으)ㄹ 거예요 for a future plan, intention, or likely prediction. The exact meaning depends on whether the subject can control the event.
The Rule
After a consonant, add -을 거예요: 먹다 → 먹을 거예요. After a vowel, add -ㄹ 거예요: 가다 → 갈 거예요. With a ㄹ-ending stem, keep one ㄹ: 살다 → 살 거예요. 하다 becomes 할 거예요. Keep a space before 거예요.

A Short Dialogue

B: 제주도에 갈 거예요. — I’m going to go to Jeju Island.
A: 누구하고 여행할 거예요? — Who will you travel with?
B: 가족하고 여행할 거예요. — I will travel with my family.
A Common Mistake to Avoid
Write 갈 거예요 with a space; 거예요 is a bound noun construction, not part of one unbroken word. With descriptive verbs, the form usually sounds like a prediction rather than a deliberate plan: 날씨가 좋을 거예요 means “The weather will probably be good.”
