대박 (daebak) — Awesome! No way! Jackpot!

What 대박 means
Use 대박 when something surprises or impresses you: good news, an excellent meal or an unexpected result. It can be a complete reaction on its own.
A short conversation
A: 나 장학금 받았어.
B: 대박! 축하해!
A: I got a scholarship.
B: No way! Congratulations!
How to understand the expression
대박 is a reaction, so you do not need to build a long sentence around it. Try saying the two parts separately: 대박! Then 축하해! The second phrase makes your friendly intention clear. Do not translate every use as a financial jackpot; the surrounding situation usually supplies the meaning.
Use it with care
Very casual. Excited intonation makes it sound delighted; a flat or exaggerated tone can make it sound sarcastic.
A more neutral or polite alternative: 와, 정말 잘됐네요!
