Use keywords to remember
Work with a short passage section and reduce your notes to keywords, then use those notes to speak.
Try it step by step
After listening, write two or three Korean keywords in order. Replay the section to check that they reflect what you heard. Use the keywords to recall one complete sentence at a time.
Check your progress
Listen once more after speaking. Did your version keep the same people, actions, and sequence? If a detail is unclear, mark it as a question rather than guessing.
Turn keywords into a message
The following is an original practice example for the skill above. It is separate from the chapter recordings and is not a transcript.
Read this short practice passage: 토요일에 공원에 가요. 공원에서 친구를 만나요. 같이 산책해요. It means “On Saturday I go to the park. I meet a friend at the park. We take a walk together.” Useful keywords are 토요일, 공원, 친구, 산책.
Try the example yourself
Cover the passage and use these prompts: ① When and where? ② Who do you meet? ③ What do you do together? Try one complete sentence for each prompt.
Model answers and why they work
Model answers: ① 토요일에 공원에 가요. ② 공원에서 친구를 만나요. ③ 같이 산책해요. 에 marks the destination in the first sentence; 에서 marks the location of meeting in the second.
Your notes do not have to contain every particle, but your spoken sentences still need suitable grammar. If you remember 산책 but cannot form the sentence, return to 같이 산책해요 and practice that chunk. Do not invent a new time or place when your task is to retell this particular message.
